You may have heard about “The Union” when starting at MMU but might not be completely sure about what it is and how it’s relevant to you.

 

You are a member of The Union

All students who enrol as a student at Manchester Metropolitan University, whether as a foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate, home or international student – you’re a member of The Union. This happens automatically and you have access to all of our facilities, services, events and support.

Many of you will know of us as a building on campus that’s home to Starbucks and Wednesday night events, but the building also houses lots of other student services including our Advice Service, volunteering services and more.

 

So why activate my account?

Whilst some of our services are available face to face, we also have a lot digitally through our website.

Activating your account enables you to:

• Buy from our e-shop
• Sign up to events and get tickets
• Sign up to clubs and societies
• Register yourself for volunteering opportunities
• See “student only” content on our website
• Coordinate societies as a student leader
• Vote in student elections
• Join email lists to ensure you don’t miss upcoming events, opportunities, deals and offers
