Write a note to your future self and check back in during Semester 2. Part of The Student Self Care Movement.
Student Volunteering Week is just around the corner, and to celebrate we are putting on our annual Volunteering Fair Thursday 10 February 11:00 – 15:00.
We have invited over 20 charities to come along and chat about what volunteering opportunities they have on offer for you - and to help you decide what organisations and opportunities you should speak to on the day, we have created a digital walk-through on what to expect.
Children and Young People proves the most popular area we have on our portal. If you’re interested in gaining experience in this sector - you’re in luck. We have a handful of great organisations coming along to our fair.
+ IntoUniversity – learn to tutor disadvantaged young people.

+ Manchester Sea Cadets – be a team instructor
+ 123rd Manchester Scout Group – be a youth work assistant

If you are passionate about helping people who are experiencing homelessness, we have two wonderful charities attending that you may be interested in:

We also have lots of great sports volunteering opportunities on our Sports Portal. If you’re interested, you can come along to speak with:
+ Manchester Football Association - the governing body for the association football in the City of Manchester
+ Greater Sport – aiming to Change Lives Together through movement, physical activity, and sport
+ Football for Humanity - sport for development charity that uses football-focused interventions to tackle complex social issues
If none of the charities above float your boat, perhaps you’ll be interested in:
+ Milk & Honey Café – a community café for the city
+ Wigan & Leigh Archives - collect, preserve, catalogue, and make available to the public the records of the district
+ Groundwork - working to create a greener, more resilient city region
Make sure you pop into The Union Hall 10 February to have a chat with some of these amazing charities and have a look on our Volunteering Portal for more information on the opportunities they have available.
