Thinking of visiting us over the next few weeks? Check out our latest opening times, first.
It's been shocking for us all to witness the far-right, racist violence both nationally and within our own city over the last few days.
The Union is here for every single student at Manchester Met and we will always stand against division, hate and discrimination.
We're aware that some of our students remain in Manchester over the summer for a variety of reasons. If you're feeling anxious, vulnerable or would like further information on support available, please reach out to any of the below services.
Call 0161 247 6533 to book telephone, Microsoft Teams or in person advice. You can also email the team s.u.advice@mmu.ac.uk.
The Student Hub is available from 09:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday in the Business School building or via phone on 0161 247 1000 from 10:00 to 16:00.
This service offers one-to one support, wellbeing workshops and courses, as well as online self-help information. You can also access their 24/7 wellbeing helpline.
If you experience any form of discrimination, hate incident or sexual violence, you can report it via the University's Report and Support response system. You can report incidences anonymously or leave your contact details and a trained member of the Student Welfare team will get in touch with you to discuss your options.
Download the SafeZone app to ‘Check in’ any time of day and say where you are 24/7 (especially if you’re alone!). You can also quickly and discretely call for assistance via the app, whether it’s for first aid or in an emergency.
There are several locations in the city covered by the SafeZone app:
+ On campus
+ Along the Oxford Road Corridor
+ In and around the University of Salford campus (including MediaCity)
+ Victoria Park and Fallowfield
The University's Student Welfare team makes sure students get the right support, guidance and practical advice when they need it. You can email them at studentsupport@mmu.ac.uk.
For non-immediate assistance from campus security, call 0161 247 2222.
In an emergency, call 999 to speak to the police, ambulance or fire service.
