If you're on the hunt for Manchester's best burger — stop looking. Here's a list of some of the very best burgers the city has to offer.
Almost Famous
Not almost famous, it’s just famous for its gigantic burgers with absurdly delicious toppings that are definitely worth queueing for. The ‘Burger, Fries and Booze’ lunchtime deal is £12 every weekday too.
Archies
Around the corner from MMU, Archies is a firm favourite for its burgers, shakes and waffles. Plus they’re open until 3am so perfect for post night out food.
Wholesome Junkies
If meat isn’t your thing, get yourself to the Arndale food market and hit up Wholesome Junkies to satisfy your vegan junk food needs. Wellbeing Officer, Andy Harmon, recommends the vegan KFC burger.
Honest Burgers
There’s a few of these dotted around the country but that doesn’t mean they don’t know the locals. They’ve created a special burger called — you guessed it — The Manchester. Made with Honest beef, Bury black pudding, Runaway beer cheese sauce, mini roasties, bacon gravy, rocket and pickles — it’s not to be missed. Students also get 30% off food every Monday to Thursday between 14:00 and 17:30.
SoLita
Famous for its ‘Big Manc’ burger but if you want to try something a bit different, give their cheeseburger spring rolls a go.
Tariff and Dale
The ‘Bone Marrow Burger’ gets The Union’s vote — how often do you get brie on a burger? Amazing.
Banyan
Cool cocktail bar serving up delicious burgers. Go at lunchtime and you can get their Deluxe Burger and a soft drink for £10.95.
V Rev Vegan Diner
Based in the Northern Quarter, this completely vegan diner prides itself on its plant-based burgers, £5 lunch deals, sweet treats and vegan shakes.
Northern Soul
Not exactly a burger place but hear us out. These grilled cheese sandwiches are legendary — bask in the cheesy goodness of the ‘Pig on a Lead’ loaded with mac ‘n’ cheese and pulled pork, recommended by your President, Anna Welsh.
