Pumpkin picking is definitely something for people of all ages with a love for autumn. It’s a chance to get away from the business of the city, admire the changes in the nature around us, find some great decorations for your student house and Instagram it all in the process.
For some Gram worthy pics, and to find the perfect spooky pumpkin to carve this October, head to somewhere like Dunham Massey Pumpkin Patch or Stockport’s Reddish Vale Farm.

There are many pretty and aesthetically pleasing areas of Manchester to walk through this Autumn with your Pumpkin Spiced Lattes. Castlefield is in walking distance from MMU and has orange trees currently lining the canal paths, reflecting on the water – beautiful no matter the weather.
Didsbury is only a quick tram, bus or train journey away (see our day trips article) from both the city centre and Fallowfield, and is home to Fletcher Moss Park, featuring a botanical garden.
You can also wrap up warm and head to Heaton Park on the tram (see our outdoor spaces article) where they have a massive 600 acre park overlooking the city. There’s even a cute café in the grounds to stop at for lunch.
Bonfire Night is upcoming and many venues, such as Etihad Stadium and Heaton Park, are still deciding on details for their fireworks displays. However, some areas in surrounding suburbs have confirmed displays such as Levenshulme, Salford and Oldham.
