We all know that uni life can be tough at times. As students, we’re all focused on studying and getting the best academic grade possible. Reminiscing on my first year as an undergrad at MMU reminds me of how easy it is to limit your uni experience to just your course. Two years later, I got involved in the Diversity & Inclusion Ambassador project as a lead ambassador which has allowed me and the fantastic team of people I work with to lead events with a purpose. This purpose is centred on ensuring that every single individual has a chance to reach their highest potential and succeed at Uni. We also believe that every single student should feel empowered and have a sense of belonging with MMU. In order to achieve this, we have put on some exciting events which are all centred around the themes of diversity and inclusion. Whether it may be a break from your studies or a chance to socialise with new people, we have something for everyone and we would love for you to come along and meet us. Networking with Friends:

What? Join the Diversity & Inclusion Student Ambassadors for our first ever speed-dating style networking session — meet new people and make new friends from across campus. There will also be a group discussion and, of course, snacks are provided!

What? Friendly faces after prayers with free games and activities to get involved with over a bite to eat. This will be a great opportunity to hang out and socialise with other students as well as the Diversity & Inclusion team.

What? A bite to eat and some friendly faces after the Friday prayer at the end of a long week! Free games and fun activities will be included.

Film Night: ‘The Kite Runner’
Where? Meeting Room 6 & 7, The Union
When? Wednesday 30-01-2019 | 16:30- 20:00
What? A free film screening followed by an interesting discussion, which will explore the key themes of diversity & inclusion. The themes will include family expectations, cultural identity, racism, religion and masculinity. Popcorn and refreshments provided!
