Student Officer Elections 2025: Nominations are now open, get yourself in the running.
✨We’re so excited to announce the newest part of Gracie, your Well-being Officer’s, student self-care movement: Note to Self!
A Note to Self is your chance to write a message to the future you, marking this moment in time and acknowledging the journey you’re on.
Think of it as a little snapshot of your life right now—what’s important to you, what you’re working on, and what you hope to achieve. It could be a quick message or a longer, thoughtful letter—whatever feels right.
Maybe you want to encourage yourself, ask a question, or reflect on how you’ve been feeling.
However you choose to write it, this note will serve as a personal reminder of just how far you’ve come, and who you’re becoming along the way🛣️
This is your chance to pause and appreciate who you are in this moment.
It can be easy to get caught up in deadlines, expectations, and the rush of student life, but reflecting on where you are right now can be so empowering. Maybe you’re working toward a goal, exploring something new, or simply trying to get through a challenging semester.
🪷Whatever it is, writing to your future self is a powerful act of self-celebration, gratitude, and hope.
This is all honouring your journey, no matter where you are on it. It’s a way to remind yourself of what’s important, to recognise your resilience, and to support yourself with some words of encouragement💛
Starting Monday 18 November, you can submit your Note to Self on The Union website.
Then, in Semester 2, we’ll send your note back to you, giving you the chance to look back on your thoughts and check in on how things have unfolded.
And if you’re up for it, you can even opt in to have your note be part of a collection of messages that celebrates student journeys here at Manchester Met.
Don’t worry, though; if you choose not to share it, your note will still come back to you privately🗝️
Not sure where to begin? Here are a few prompts to get you started:
Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to do this—your Note to Self is for you, so let it be as unique and personal as you like. We’re here to help you celebrate who you are now and who you’re becoming.
So, take a minute, find that link on our page, and leave yourself a message.
