Introducing The Union Living Room, a brand new social space designed just for you. A place to relax, connect, and be open. A place for you to exist as yourself, chat with your mates and cross paths with new people.

A place for you 🏠

This is a cozy space for you to relax, unwind, chat, or maybe even get some uni work done in a chilled environment (and if it gets too noisy, you can always pop to The Study next door for a quieter atmosphere).

The Living room is all about getting to know the people around you, making connections, and being part of a community in a completely judgement-free space. Packed full of comfy sofas, loads of books for you to read at your leisure, a community sketchpad, and board games to help break the ice and get that conversation flowing.

Why? ✨

This is an initiative started by our President, Leila, who wanted to foster a welcoming community within The Union, making it easy to meet new people, be open, relax & chat with one another.

Meeting new people can often feel very daunting, and Leila wanted to make this experience easier by creating an open-minded atmosphere to help bring students together.

Heat & Eat 🍜

Within this area you also have full access to our new Heat & Eat station. Equipped with four microwaves, a hot tap and sink all for your convenience, this is the perfect spot to heat up your lunch, sit back and relax.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick snack before lectures, or enjoying a hot meal with your mates, this space has everything you need and more.

Where to find us: On the Second floor of The Union, right outside the Officers Office and next to The Study.

Opening Times: As long as the building is open, so is The Living Room! Standard times are:

+ Mon - Fri: 08:00 - 22:00

+ Sat & Sun: 12:00 - 16:00
