Want to represent the views of students on a national stage? Nominations are now open for the NUS Delegates, who will represent Manchester Met students at the National Union of Students’ National Conference.

As well as being the voice of students at MMU, this is a great chance to network and share ideas with other students and campaigners from across the country. You can nominate yourself, or recommend someone you think would be great for the role.

Find out more and nominate.

Nominations are open from 9:00 on Monday 16 October to Friday 3 November (until 17:00) and you can vote for your preferred candidates from 9:00 Friday 10 November to Thursday 16 November (until 16:00).

Last year, eight NUS Conference delegates were elected after 614 of you voted for your preferred candidates.

About the Conference

Representation on NUS Conference delegations is a motion that was passed at National Conference 2014, changing NUS’ rules on the make-up of delegations to National Conference. The motion means that all delegations have to have at least 50% self-defining women on them (rounded down).

NUS National Conference will take place in spring 2018, where it will set policy for the NUS for the year ahead in each of its 5 zones and holds NUS elections.

The 5 zones which the conference sets policy for are:

National Conference is also where the budget for the year ahead for NUS is decided through the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

You can find out more details about NUS Delegates and the election.
