Pride is a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender life. Manchester Pride also works for equality, challenges discrimination and creates opportunity for engagement and participation. The theme this year is Graduation: Class of 2017.
This year we have worked with the LGBT+ Society Committee to create an exciting program of workshops and meet-ups to get ready for the big weekend:
Come along to a fun and relaxed drop-in with information about how to have a fun and safe Pride.
With stalls from the wonderful services of the LGBT+ Foundation, tops tips for the weekend including things to do, see and sign up for as well as another chance to get creative! Join us from 12:00 until 15:00 in Rooms 6 & 7 in The Union.
Our LGBT+ Committee will be running make-up tutorials, to give you a taste of what it takes to be a drag artist, with a film screening to follow. We'll be upstairs in The Salutation pub from 13:00.
We’ll be meeting at 9:00 - 10:30 in Room 6 & 7 at The Union to catch up, plan our weekends, have tea and breakfast before heading over to Brooks to decorate the float.
Come meet us at 70 Oxford Road (formerly the Cornerhouse) from 9:00 until 10:00 where, if you are taking part on the float or in the parade, you can come and have a coffee and a chat with other participants.Get in the mood, plan your weekend and then we'll head over to the Brooks building to join the float and start the fun!
Round off the weekend with a picnic in the relaxed environment of Sackville Gardens at 13:00. Please note that tickets to Pride will be required to enter this area.
