Student Officer Elections 2025: Nominations are now open, get yourself in the running.
At The Union, we know that being a student can leave you with little money or time. Recent years have seen everyday costs increase and student funding hasn’t kept pace. We know that to make ends meet you’re often having to work more, leaving you time poor when it comes to opportunities to engage in extra-curricular activities.
That’s why we’re launching our Money Matters campaign. We want to look at where support is needed and work in partnership with Manchester Met to make sure there is accessible financial support and that study related additional costs are manageable.
Additional costs are things you must buy for your course that aren’t covered by tuition fees. These could be art materials, software, equipment, printing or coursebooks. You’ll know best what these are on your course. To help us work with the university to understand these costs we need to hear from you.
Manchester Met provides a range of support to you whilst here such as laptop loans, software and hardship funding and we want to make sure that all of you are as aware of them as possible. We’re asking that you take two minutes to fill in our survey and let us know about your additional costs so that The Union and Manchester Met can work together to ensure that you are supported in the best way possible.
We look forward to continuing to work with Manchester Met to make sure that all our students are able to succeed during their time with us.
