Write a note to your future self and check back in during Semester 2. Part of The Student Self Care Movement.
Have you ever planned a study day at the library, right down to the details of what snacks you’re taking, only to get there and see there’s absolutely no space? If the answer is yes, either we’re psychic, or not surprised.
But there’re plenty of other spaces across campus for you to eat your snacks (sorry, study) in.
You may have noticed us mention this briefly in our 7 reasons to stay on campus guide, but even if you didn’t - here’s a more detailed guide for places to study on campus when the library is full, or if you just fancy a change of scenery.
The third floor at The Union is a great quiet space for you to come and get some work done. The space rarely gets busy and is filled with comfy seats and great views of the city.
There’s also Starbucks and The Food Hall downstairs. So, if you’re the kind of person who’s more productive in a social environment – there’s plenty of space for that here. There’s also loads of options for you to grab a bite to eat if you’ve forgotten your study snacks.
If you’ve ever been sat in All Saints Park and wondered how people have managed to get up to the roof of the Grosvenor Building, or if you’ve never even noticed, now you know.
The third floor of the Arts and Humanities building makes for a great study area, both social and quiet.
Complete with vending machines, an outdoor balcony, and stunning views of All Saints - productivity will be at its peak here.
Here’s your excuse to visit our new School of Digital Arts building if you aren’t lucky enough to call it your course home.
The new building is located next to our very own Salutation Pub - just in case you haven’t noticed the thousands of neon lights that cover the front of it (we haven’t counted, but there’s a lot).
The worktables inside offer a perfect spacious study space for groups. The funky lights aren’t just on the outside either – the space offers a light up wall and some disco vibes whilst you get on with your work, too.
Possibly the most visually appealing place on campus, the study space in the Brooks Building provides fantastic views of both the glass interior of the building, and the surrounding gardens.
There’re more than enough desks and computers for you to spend some study time alone or get some work done in a group, too.
There’re also handy TV screens, perfect for practicing presentations on.
Along with the main study space in Brooks, there’s also the booths.
The booths are more suited for group study, so if you’ve got a group project due soon or just get more work done when you’re studying with your friends – this space is for you.
So, now you know there’re plenty of ‘nowhere to study’ excuse-busting spaces across campus for you to take advantage of.
