Union Awards 2025: It's time to share the love for your clubs and societies - Nominate someone now
Wednesday 29 November marks the annual ‘Reclaim The Night’ campaign and we’re teaming up with the University of Manchester’s Student Union to support our students and help you get involved.
This campaign takes to the streets of Manchester to fight against sexual harassment and gender-based violence. Whether this is a cause close to your heart, you want to stand in solidarity with those around you, or you simply want to show your support, join the march and help make a positive change.
To get yourself ready for the march, come along to The Union for a banner making session; this is a great opportunity to get your creative juices flowing and meet some like-minded people before the big night. Grab your free ticket now before it’s too late.
Here’s everything you need to know about the event:
+ Wednesday 29 November.
+ Meet at The University of Manchester’s Student Union from 18:30, the march will begin at approx 19:00.
+ Kicking off on Lime Grove (M13 9PP) just between UoM Students’ Union building and Alan Gilbert Learning Commons, the march will then begin making its way down Oxford Road.
+ As you head towards the city centre, you’ll pass by Manchester Met University and Kimpton Clocktower, before making your way past Manchester Central Library and The Midland Hotel.
+ You’ll continue on to past Impossible bar before ending at the great Northern Square at approx 20:00. Rally speeches will take place from 20:00 - 20:30 as the event comes to an end around 20:30 - 21:00.
+ There’s an accessible route that veers off just by Impossible Bar, stewards will be stationed to direct you this way if needed. They’ll also be able to show you the way to the viewing platforms.
+ There’ll be a stand outside of our All Saints building providing you with light refreshments, water and hot drinks, and loads of info about Reclaim The Night.
+ All Saints will also be open until 20:30 as a safe and warm place for you to gather, there’ll also be people from the Universities pastoral service to help out if you need it.
