SHAG Week: The Line-up

Wednesday 26-02-2025 - 09:22

In case you didn’t know, from Monday 03 March it’s Sexual Guidance and Health (SHAG) week here at The Union.

🤔What's SHAG Week?

SHAG Week is all about raising awareness about Sexual Health and making sure you know how to take care of your sexual well-being, access reliable information, and make informed choices about contraception, consent, and STI prevention.

So, over the week, we’ll be putting on different activities to help with awareness and make sure that you’re safe.

Here’s a look at what you can expect:

❓Guess the Condom

On Monday 03 March we will be doing Guess the Condom in our Reception, 10:00 – 16:00.

Here, all you must do is guess how many condoms there are in a jar. The best bit? You'll be in with a chance to win a “Self-Love” Hamper. This includes:

  • Body positive candle
  • Lube
  • latex free condoms
  • Heart plushy
  • Massage oil
  • Affirmation cards
  • Sex guide

Can’t make it Monday? No worries, Guess the Condom will also be at the Sexual Health Market on Tuesday🌟

🎨Clay Boob Making & Painting

On Monday 03 March we’re holding a Clay Boob Making & Painting in Meeting Room 6 & 7, 12:00 – 16:00.

Get creative as you sculpt and decorate you own unique pot, and of course, you’ll get to take it home too.

Whilst you’re there you can also snag yourself some freebies from Coppafeel👀

🎡Sexual Health Fair

Tuesday 04 March is the big day when we’ll be holding a Sexual Health Market in our Main Hall, 10:00 – 16:00.

You can expect free and confidential testing, expert advice and guidance, and helpful resources. You’ll also have the chance to give feedback to the Uni about how they can support your sexual health.

Here’s just some of the stalls that’ll be there:

  • Northern Sexual Health
  • ARCH Medical
  • Cornbrook
  • LGBTQ+ Foundation
  • Superdrug
  • Manchester Met Uni

And you can bet there'll definitely be some freebies up for grabs too🎉

💛SHAG Week: A Judgement-Free Zone

SHAG Week is all about raising awareness, promoting safety, and making sure you have access to the information and resources you need.

Whether you're here to learn, grab some freebies, or just have fun with the activities, this is a completely judgment-free zone. Your choices are yours, and we're here to support a safe, informed, and open conversation about sexual health.

We'll be posting more info on our website and Instagram soon. So keep an eye out!
