Student Volunteering Week 2018 runs from 19 to 25 February. Getting involved offers a great chance for you to develop your skills and form key social action partnerships in local communities.

Last year, we shared some of the amazing volunteering work you had been involved with, from being a Course Rep to taking part in community projects such as Street2Feet. This year, join in with some of the activities happening in the week:

On Monday, you can make a pledge to do some good in the world – whether it’s large or small, personal or practical, we want to hear it.

Tuesday offers you the chance to get green-fingered, pot up some plants and find out more about local projects in gardens and green spaces.

Sports volunteers are such a huge part of our life here at The Union, so on Wednesday you can come and meet them, learn more about what they do and take them on at ping pong and win prizes.

On Thursday, you’ll have another chance to sign our pledge board and make yourself your very own ‘I Volunteer’ badge.

Finally, on Friday you can find out about the world of digital volunteering and how many opportunities there are, and have a go at the weird and wonderful world of online micro-volunteering. You can check out some of our favourites here.

Read Bea's story about her volunteering experience to get inspired.

Thought about volunteering but not sure where to start? Check out all of the opportunities available or get in touch with the team to find out more.

If Sports Volunteering sounds like it’s for you, you can find more information over on the MMU Sport Volunteering website.

Know an incredible student volunteer already? Keep your eyes peeled for the Volunteering Awards in the next few weeks – nominations will be open soon.
