The shortlists for the 2017 Teaching Awards have been revealed.

As seen last year, all six faculties have made it on to this year’s shortlists, featuring a total of 41 exceptional nominees from across the University.

Over 930 students nominated their lecturers, courses and teams, praising staff for their "clear, constructive and enlightening feedback", "kindness, compassion and support" and their thoughtfulness, creativity and honesty.

There are a total of ten awards, ranging from Teacher of the Year to Outstanding Innovation in Teaching. This year, categories also include Best Undergraduate Supervisor and Best Postgraduate Supervisor. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at The Union on 16 May.

The Union is also delighted to offer an open invitation to Manchester Metropolitan staff and students to the award ceremony.  For the first time we have a limited number of tickets available for anyone who would like to attend.

As before, entries were judged anonymously against set criteria by a panel of students, Student Officers and other representatives.

The Teaching Awards, now in its seventh year, celebrates excellent teaching at Manchester Met. Every year, students share their stories about the individuals and team who go out of their way to make the learning experience the best it can be - the people they think deserve to be recognised.
