The Union is thrilled to be a finalist for the Student Experience Award (University Sector) in the Educate North Awards 2025! This category aims to recognise a university institution or department who “put students at the heart of their institution delivering outstanding value and exceeding expectations for those studying.”
Our submission is for the Student Self-Care Movement, run by our Wellbeing Officer, Gracie Otley. Gracie’s campaign showcases a fantastic example of supporting our students in their personal success by encouraging them to prioritise their personal development. Gracie Otley, said,
“It is incredible that The Union has been shortlisted for the Educate North Awards for recognition of the Student Self-Care Movement. This truly highlights how personal development of self-care is so important in life as a student and beyond. Our submission demonstrates the special collaboration of so many teams within our organisation and what can be achieved when we work together with one common goal. I hope this recognition of the Student Self-Care Movement creates a pathway for similar projects to be used throughout higher education, as we all work to improve the wellbeing of our communities. Together we can be powerful.”
You can find the full list of finalists here and the winners will be announced at the Educate North Awards ceremony on Thursday 3 April.
