Manchester is home to some of the UK’s most exciting festivals, bringing culture, music, and celebrations to the city all year round. Here are some of the biggest events to look forward to in 2025!
🏮Chinese New Year – The Year of the Dragon
Manchester lights up for Chinese New Year with an incredible celebration from Saturday 1 – Sunday 2 February! Expect thousands of red lanterns, live performances, delicious street food, and a funfair. Don’t miss the legendary Dragon Parade and the breathtaking illuminated night dragon dance finale!
🎤 MancHagen 2025 – Eurovision Festival
Eurovision fans, this one’s for you! MancHagen 2025 is the UK’s biggest Eurovision celebration, bringing all the glitz, glam, and Europop magic to Manchester before this year’s acts hit the road. Expect epic performances, electric crowds, and the ultimate pre-party before Eurovision.
Taking place every August Bank Holiday weekend, Manchester Pride is one of the UK’s biggest and most vibrant LGBTQ+ festivals. Spanning multiple days and venues, it features the iconic Pride Parade, The Gay Village Party, live performances, nightlife, and Youth & Family Pride, making it a celebration for all ages.
The UK’s biggest Italian festival is back from 23-25 August in Manchester city centre! Inspired by traditional Italian festivals, Festa Italiana brings the community together at Cathedral Gardens for a weekend of authentic Italian food, drinks, and live music.
🎭 Manchester International Festival (MIF25)
Returning this summer, MIF25 brings the world’s most exciting artists to Manchester for a celebration of art, theatre, music, dance, and more. Under new Creative Director Kee Hong Low, the festival will take over Aviva Studios and locations across the city, showcasing exclusive, never-before-seen works.

🛍️ Northern Quarter Makers Market
On the second Sunday of every month, the Northern Quarter Makers Market takes over Stevenson Square. Here you can find local artists, independent traders, vintage fashion, handmade crafts, and street food. It’s the perfect place to for gift buying or just treating yourself.
