Essential Committee Training is being held at The Union Thursday 19 and Friday 20 September for all committee members. A sign-up link will be emailed to committee members in July.

This training will be repeated in October for committee members who can’t make it in September.

Lead Volunteer training information

Throughout the year we host the LEAD Volunteer training programme for students interested in developing their skills further and rounding out their CV. Here’s a list of the modules available:

  • Leadership: Develop your leadership skills and understand the part you play on your team
  • Finance: Manchester Met based monopoly game where you can learn how to make smart financial choices with your society money
  • Growing your fanbase: The essentials in how to keep your members engaged with your activity
  • Time Management: Learn how to manage your busy schedule
  • Media Law: Essential for staying out of trouble online
  • Zooming in on Communication: Learn how to communicate better with your committee and your members
  • Being A Rep: Perfect for society and sports council members and course reps
  • Team Working: How to manage conflict and working together as a new team
  • Risk and Safeguarding Training: Be prepared for anything that comes your way during society activity
  • Planning: An activity-based session where your committee uses planning skills to rob a bank
