Hosted by the Performance Research Group at Manchester School of Art, Bunker Talks brings artists and researchers to The Salutation to talk about who they are and what they do.
A space for critical encounters, presentations, provocation and dialogue, Bunker Talks are linked by a line of enquiry into geo-political, ecological or economic concerns.
Talk #113 is with Agnieszka Piotrowska.
Agnieszka Piotrowska, PhD, is:
+ An award winning BBC-trained filmmaker and theorist. She is Reader in Film at SODA, Manchester School of Art, and Visiting Professor in Film and Cultural Studies at the University of Gdansk, Poland.
+ She is Former Head of the School for Film, Media and the performing Arts at the University for the Creative Arts.
+ She was the Director of the global network ‘s conference Visible Evidence in the summer of 2022 in Gdansk.
+ She has been invited to show her work and give keynotes around the world including Bristol, Cambridge, Durban, New York, LA, Stockholm and Krakow.
+ She is best known for her iconic acclaimed documentary Married to the Eiffel Tower but more recently she has been making creating work in Zimbabwe including experimental fiction, hybrid documentary and video essays.
Bunker talks take place in The Salutation function room which is on the first floor and is only accessible via a metre-wide flight of stairs.
Each talk is recorded and some are live-streamed, so there are ways to access the event other than attending in person.
It is FREE to attend but advanced registration via Eventbrite is required
Bunker Talks take place on the first Tuesday of every month at The Salutation Pub.
