The Union are hosting Dr Senthorun Raj, a Reader in Human Rights Law at Manchester Metropolitan Law School, to do an interactive talk about LGBTQ+ History
Here's a brief synopsis for the talk:
The development of LGBT rights is not a fairy tale of linear progress. The possibilities of LGBT rights and liberation, even within LGBT communities, have been filled with disruption, anger, and contestation as well as joy, hope, and pleasure. In this talk, Dr Raj will explore some of these complexities and why we need to decolonise what we “know” about, and how we “do,” LGBT rights.
Why not come join to discuss history through a non European lens.
