What is Lunar New Year? 🌑
Lunar New Year is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. It is special time to bring friends and family together for feasting and festivities in China, Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Mongolia and other countries all over the world.
What are the envelopes for? 🧧
At Lunar New Year, it's tradition to give the gift of a bright, beautiful red envelope (known as 紅包, hóngbāo) to your friends and family. Usually they are filled with money, which symbolize good wishes and luck for the new year ahead. (At this giveaway the envelopes will come with a chocolate coin instead!)
