Celebrated photographer, and former Manchester Met student, Richard Davis is joining us at The Sal to showcase some of his unique archive and deliver an exciting talk on the history of Mancunian culture. Guests can visit the exhibition whenever they please and chat to Richard about his iconic work, there’ll also be two chances to attend his talk at 14:00 or 17:00. Richard’s a fountain of knowledge and a great connection for all you creatives out there, there may even be opportunity to purchase some of his prints too.

🕺Who can come?

Anyone who’s booked a ticket to this event is welcome, Manchester Met student or not. Bring your mates along or fly solo and make some new friends whilst you’re here.

 

🎪 What’s The Sal like?

The Sal is our on-campus pub and is one of Manchester’s most historic. A relaxing space with vintage and homely décor, it even has a secret beer garden. This event will take place in the function room on the first floor, accessible only via a staircase.

 

🎤 What type of atmosphere should I expect?

The talk will be relaxed and conversational, but we expect all guests to be respectful towards Richard as he presents his work. You can come and go as you please in the exhibition area in between talks, and the pub will be operating as usual downstairs for you to grab a pint whilst you’re here.

 

🍕 Will there be food and drink available?

The main bar and kitchen will be operating as usual downstairs serving alcoholic and soft drinks, last orders half an hour before closing. The kitchen is open 12:00 - 20:00, so plenty of time to grab a delicious bite to eat whilst you’re here.

 

🥤 Are non-alcohol drinkers welcome?

Of course, everyone’s welcome and there are plenty of non-alcoholic drink options available.

 

♿️ Is the event accessible for all?

This event is situated on the first floor of The Sal in the function room, which is only accessible via a metre-wide staircase.
