Volunteering is more than time spent; it’s also about skills gained

If you already volunteer with The Union or you’ve found your perfect volunteer opportunity through our online portal, you can log your volunteering hours and the skills you have gained to access rewards and support, you can also can claim RISE points for every hour you've volunteered. After 25 hours you should log skills along with each session of volunteering to claim your reward.

Get Going: 5 hours

  • Claim 5 RISE points

Bronze: 25 hours

  • Claim 40 RISE points
  • Claim a digital certificate of your achievement
  • Mentoring Session and notepad

Silver: 50 hours

  • Claim 80 RISE points
  • Claim a digital certificate of your achievement
  • Volunteering tote bag

Gold: 100 hours

  • Claim 160 RISE points
  • Claim a digital certificate of your achievement
  • Volunteering T-shirt

Platinum: 200 hours

  • Claim 320 RISE points
  • Claim a digital certificate of your achievement
  • £50 training bursary

RISE Scheme 

Through the University’s RISE scheme, you can gain skills that count towards your degree for broader experiential learning. Through RISE you can claim; 30 course credits, and/or degree transcript recognition, once you gain 300 RISE points. You can claim credits at each above level of our Recognition scheme.
