We are going to visit Trafford Renew Hub!
Renew is an ambitious and unique project which aims to create value from waste to benefit Greater Manchester. They take items donated at recycling centres across Greater Manchester, then repair and renew them at the Renew Hub, ready to be resold to a new home.
Items donated to the local recylcing centre are taken to the Renew Hub where they are cleaned up, mended if necessary, or upcycled before they’re sent on to one of their three Renew shops.
And we are going for a tour of the hub. Fabulous. This will give us an inside view of how items are repaired and upcycled, avoiding the landfill.
The tour lasts from 12.30-14.30. We will meet at 11.30 at All Saints Park to travel to Trafford together, via public transport. We will return to Manchester centre around 15.30. The site is regrettably not wheelchair accessible. This event is free of charge, but we need you to secure your spot on the tour! Do that by following the link in the email.
Please wear suitable footwear as it is an industrial site! And bring with you any refreshments you might need during the day.
