The Union, Manchester Metropolitan University, is an independent, registered charity dedicated to enhancing the student experience for over 39,000 students- run by students, for students.
We are entering an exciting new chapter, with a new CEO and a renewed focus on our mission to support every student at Manchester Met University in achieving personal success. With vibrant clubs and societies, support services and commercial activity through our events, bar and retail, we are proud to play a key role in helping students thrive.
We’re now seeking a strategic individual to join our Trustee Board as Chair, helping us define the future of our organisation and ensuring we deliver on our promise to be inclusive, impactful, and student focused.

For us to be able to make sure every student can celebrate who they are, shape their university experience and feel connected to a community, we need to continue to innovate and make sure we champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in everything that we do. This means having a commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive Trustee Board.
We would particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian, and other racially minoritised candidates and disabled and/or neurodivergent candidates, to improve representation of these groups on our Board.
